Treatment and reuse of process water for an industrial site.
The site discharged its process water after only minimal treatment, with a rising cost linked to discharge fees and clean-water supply. SAFWAT implemented a treatment chain enabling a large share of this effluent to be reused in the process.
Beyond the environmental benefit, the site reduced its clean-water consumption and its discharge treatment costs.
The chain combines upstream physico-chemical treatment to remove suspended solids and part of the organic load, followed by filtration matched to the quality required for reuse. The 300 m³/day flow rate was chosen to cover most of the site's process-water needs without oversizing the installation.
Regular analytical monitoring of the recycled water confirms its compatibility with internal uses, and a clear protocol defines the checkpoints before reinjection into the process, to avoid any risk of cross-contamination.
